For those wanting to truly escape from the modern pace of life Ribbon Flower Cottage (Kurdela Cigegi Kir Evi) offers a serene and secluded retreat in a secret rural paradise. With magnificent views of the Turquoise Sea, sunsets, cypress forests and mountains the cottage delivers the ease of contemporary living in a gorgeous traditional setting.
Located at the bottom of a small Turkish village, Gokbel Kisla, the cottage is hidden away on a road that leads to nowhere. It has a large pool area, with a baby pool for relaxing or play and an impressive sized swimming pool for those wanting some more serious swimming. The pool area is situated in a garden amongst mature olive, lemon, and walnut trees, and includes a traditional kosk in which to lounge during the day and at night lie out and gaze at the milky way and shooting stars. The modest Byzantium tomb next to the pool provides a sense of history and ancient times.
The cottage itself is designed for relaxed holiday living. There are three air-conditioned bedrooms. The two on the upper level lead out to a large covered outside living area, allowing guests to idle on the Turkish daybeds with a book and enjoy the glorious sunsets whilst preparing and eating dinner.
The spacious downstairs living room and bedroom are built to a traditional rural Turkish style. Designed to offer cool in the heat of the day, this area includes a second kitchen and an indoor dining and lounging area with a working fire place for the cooler evenings outside of the summer months.
A vine covered terrace downstairs offers the perfect space to drink coffee and cay in the mornings, or enjoy a freshly squeezed pomegranate and orange juice, whilst enjoying the tranquillity of both the scenery and sounds.
Oranges and pomegranates are only some of the fresh local produce on offer. A welcome pack includes the village honey, olive oil, fruit and milk. You’ll probably hear the cow whose milk you’re drinking lowing across the valley, mingling with the sound of goat bells, and cicadas.
